About the Tiffany Award

This year, tng worldwide (TNG) celebrated its ninth year presenting the Tiffany Hairdresser of the Year Award. The 2011 Tiffany competition encompassed an innovative approach to fashion, hairstyle and entertainment during Fringe – one fabulous night of live stage performances showcasing the season’s trends, all to benefit the American Cancer Society (ACS).

Created by TNG, Fringe, featuring the Tiffany Hairdresser of the Year Award, celebrates the artistic mastery of hairdressing by recognizing the nation’s most outstanding hairdressers and colorists. This year, Fringe encompassed a high-energy hair and fashion show presented by the industry’s top educators and well-known artists. Kemon guest artist Massimo Berti, Moroccanoil's Artistic Director Antonio Corral and American Crew guest artists Greg Myers and Jorie Van Eck showcased and presented their interpretation of fall/winter trends. Before the night concluded, six national finalists competed live for top honors to become the 2011 Tiffany Hairdresser of the Year, with Anna LaTorre of Pigalle Salon & MedSpa in Southfield, MI taking home the coveted trophy.

Receiving a Tiffany Award has become a standard of industry excellence at a national level. Professionals who are chosen to compete for the Tiffany award take creativity to a new level by executing visionary concepts that intrigue and define fashion. All entrants must submit a Color, Formal and Women’s entry. Judges look for individuals whose work demonstrates their abilities and innovative ideas with a making it happen attitude. Tiffany is the only program of its type in the United States offering hairdressers the opportunity to showcase their work and possibly walk away with the coveted title, and new entrants are encouraged.

All net proceeds from Fringe go to ACS to fund cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services. As a Five-Star Investor and Presenting Flagship Sponsor for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, TNG has raised more than $1.7 million to date for ACS.
