Dreams Featuring Tiffany

About Dreams

DREAMS showcases the latest glamorous looks, spiced up with Metro Detroit flair.

In its sixth year, DREAMS is the vision and creation of The Nailco Group President and CEO Larry Gaynor.

"We've taken a traditional runway show and added a dynamic twist - The Tiffany Michigan Hairdresser of the Year Awards," says Gaynor.

Gaynor took a previously unexplored concept and turned it into a full-scale fashion and music spectacular, with compassion for a cure. All proceeds from DREAMS go to cancer research education, advocacy and patient services through the American Cancer Society (ACS). The Nailco Group raised $200,000 for ACS in 2007.

More than 1 million people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Approximately one out of every two American men and one out of every three American women will have a form of cancer during their lifetime. Today, millions of people are living with cancer or have been cured of the disease. The American Cancer Society is the only organization available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to help those touched by this disease. Early detection is a powerful weapon in the fight against cancer, as studies show it greatly increases treatment effectiveness and patients’ chances for survival.

Larry Gaynor, Teresa Gaynor (his wife and The Nailco Group's Vice President), and the company's 300 employees are tremendous supporters of the American Cancer Society. As a Five-Star Investor, The Nailco Group fights cancer on multiple fronts. Initiatives include:

Tell A Friend - April 14-30
This is a telephone campaign, in which employees strive to raise awareness of mammogram testing for women over 40 by calling women they know. Join us in this important initiative. Saving a life is only a telephone call away.

Salons for the Cure – May/June
During the months of May and June, Salons for the Cure unites the professional beauty industry in the fight to cure breast cancer. In the past, salons are encouraged to display pink paper ribbons as a symbol of honor to those who have survived or been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The traditional pink paper ribbon evolved in 2007 to an elegant work of keepsake art. Both salon owners and their clients were proud to display this stunning piece.

For 2008, TNG has created a beautiful, custom book mark celebrating the lives of those who have struggled with breast cancer and the champions who continue to fight against it. This inspiring pink bookmark is a useful, thoughtful way to convey the ongoing message of hope and love.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - Saturday October 18, 2008
“Hope Starts with Me” at the annual five-mile Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Here hundreds of TNG employees, family and friends gather on Belle Isle Park in Detroit to raise money and awareness for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research, education and patient services.

As the presenting sponsor of the event, we’ve raised more than $1 Million to benefit ACS.
