MAGGIE MULHERN

Maggie Mulhern is the Beauty Director for Modern Salon Media which includes Modern Salon Magazine, Process and Salon Today. In addition to conducting many of the technical shootings for the magazines, Maggie has traveled the world to bring readers to the hottest salon locations and happenings on other continents. In her 24 years with MSM, Maggie has attended thousands of hair and salon shows, and has written pieces to keep the salon world on the up and up.

ZOË HARTE

Zoë Harte is Vice President of Advanced Education for TONI&GUY. Celebrating 29 years in the industry, she joined the company in 1985 helping establish TONI&GUY’s first U.S.A. salon location. Having worked her way up through the ranks to Salon Art Director, when TONI&GUY opened an Academy in 1990, Zoë became the Advanced Education Director — responsible for creating the class formats and curriculum that have established TONI&GUY’s Advanced Education into a league of it’s own.

In 2001 Zoë was invited to join TIGI’s Education Division to look after both U.S. and International educational events and its Ambassador Program. She has been a featured artist on several video collections and in 2002 was inducted into TONI&GUY’s Hall of Fame for Artistic Leadership.

In 2007 Zoë returned to TONI&GUY to oversee the Advanced and Basic educational systems as well as the TONI&GUY Artistic Team training.

MARY RECTOR-GABLE

Mary Rector-Gable is the Founder and President of behindthechair.com, the world’s largest community website for salon professionals with more than 800,000 monthly visitors from over 90 countries. Mary started her beauty career in 1987 by founding Mary Rector & Associates, the industry’s premiere management recruitment firm. In 2000, she launched behindthechair.com and to date has welcomed more than 20 million visitors.

Mary has been extremely involved in philanthropic efforts. She’s received the NCA’s Community Service Award for her efforts to help raise $1 million dollars to help Katrina victims. In addition, together with Vidal Sassoon, she created Hairdressers Unlocking Hope, raising more than $2 million to place 22 families in homes over the past 18 months.

Mary has also worked with Bravo TV as a Consulting Producer for Shear Genius and is also launching our industry’s first salon directory website for consumers called whodoesyourhair.com.

DAVID BROADWAY

David Broadway Salon

David Broadway, the creator of the David Broadway Salon and Day Spa, is often credited for establishing and maintaining the fashion trends in the Toledo, Ohio market. David is a stylist, designer, teacher, photographer, but above all, still sees himself as a student.

David's work has been featured in almost every fashion-related consumer periodical over the last 30 years including, Elle, Mademoiselle and Harper's Bazaar. A few of his achievements include: First Place Award at the World Hairdressing Championship under the auspices of Oscar d'Elegance. The salon earned three First Place awards in the NAHA (North American Hairdressing Awards) including first place in the Haircolor category and two firsts in Women's Makeover. First place in Freestyle Hair Design competition in San Francisco.

David has established The David Broadway Academy, a significant achievement in the realm of advancement of hair styling. Beyond his commitment to our industry, David is actively involved in his community and the arts.

JAMES G. MORRISON

International Artistic Director, TONI&GUY/TIGI USA

James G. Morrison began hairdressing at age 15 in Glasgow, Scotland. His life changed at 17 when he attended a TONI&GUY seminar. At that point he knew he wanted to “run away and join the circus.” In 1984, James joined Bruno to start-up TONI&GUY/TIGI USA. Nearly 30 years later, James continues to share his love for Bruno’s vision and Anthony’s creativity as International Artistic Director for TIGI.

James has received countless accolades, including his selection as a finalist for Master Hairstylist of the Year by the North American Hairstyling Awards in 2005 and 2006. He was also named one of the top educators of the century by Modern Salon Magazine.

James has also extended his talents into motivational speaking, television and filmmaking. He and his wife, Rachel, most recently created the documentary film, One Life Project. The film, featured in the Newport Beach Film Festival, has received acclaim in the industry as a refreshing, inspirational story celebrating the hairdressing spirit.

MANUEL RODRIGUEZ

Pivot Point International

Manuel Rodriguez’s name is synonymous with outstanding creativity and exceptional education. He is singularly recognized in the industry as one of the most successful competitors and educators.

Manuel joined the Pivot Point family in 1983, where he became part of the educational team. His zest and expressive designing proved him a natural competitor and he went on to capture the 1992 World Supreme Championship.

Following that prestigious win, in 1994 Manuel became a World Team Member in the United Kingdom and, in 1996 a World Team Member at the U.S. Championships in Washington, D.C. Now fixed in the center of all things fashionable and educational, he participated in fashion shows, Design Forum productions and workshops, teacher training courses, International Symposiums, and both national and international trade shows.

In 1993, after 10 years with Pivot Pilot, Manuel changed directions and joined the Schoeneman organization as the managing artistic director. Since then, he returned to the Pivot Point World Headquarters, where he has recombined forces with the world leader in hair and beauty education. His is the hallmark of a true educator and artist who can show, tell and do while encouraging others to excel.
