The judging process
Entries must be received by 5:00 pm on Friday June 11, 2010 to qualify for the 2010 Tiffany Awards.
Entries must be complete and meet rules to progress into judging process.
An industry panel of judges scores individual entries within a category. The highest cumulative point score within each category determines the photographic entries named as finalists (nine) as well as first, second and third place winners.
The cumulative scores for three categories – Color, Formal and Women’s Editorial – are added into one total score for the Hairdresser of the Year category. The top three entrants are deemed live finalists and will be notified in August to begin preparation for the live competition. Hairdresser of the Year Finalists present a model collection of their award-winning styles in a live runway competition at the Tiffany Award Presentation on October 3, 2010, preparing one model to represent each of the three categories. Finalists will prepare models at a location named by TNG at a later date.
In the photographic category, nine finalists are named at the Tiffany Awards Banquet on October 3, 2010. Then first, second and third place winners are presented with a crystaltrophy in their respective category. Hairdresser of the Year finalists earn a new set of scores from a live panel of judges based on their on-stage model collection that evening. One live finalist is presented with the Hairdresser of the Year crystal trophy based on these new scores.
Early entry is advised. Entries will be evaluated for validity upon receipt, allowing for entry corrections to be made up to 5 pm June 11, 2010. Prior to May 7, 2010, entries deemed in violation of any or all rules will receive notification.
